Hey there! If you’ve found your way to this page, you must want to know a little bit about yours truly.
The name’s Mike and I’m what you’d call a writer and a game designer – well, aspiring at least. Online, you might also chance upon me listed as mikelhk, michael.lhk or my gaming handle, Unoriginal.
I’m currently not tied down to a full-time job and for the most part, spend my time gaming, writing on this blog and working on various itty-bitty projects on the side. Should you ever be interested in engaging my services in the field of game design or writing however, feel free to drop a line.
Oh, and if you were wondering, yes, that is a photo of me from 2007. I had my hair shorn prior to my mandatory stint with the army in 2009 but now that I’m free man, I fully intend to restore my mane to its former length and glory.
Mike Rambles About Stuff
Mike Rambles About Stuff started out in January 2010 as a means for me to cope with depression, the stresses of working in the military and the frustrations of everyday life. Without much of a social life to speak of at the time, the blog served as an online companion and confidant of sorts, one that allowed me to express myself without feeling judged.
These days, life has been on the upswing, so much so that I haven’t had much of a reason to vent as I used to. The blog, in turn, gradually evolved into what it is today – a platform on which I may, as the title suggests, ramble about stuff.
In my ramblings, I cover quite a wide span of topics, most of which often unrelated. I reckon it boils down to my habit of writing about anything and everything that tickles my fancy. My primary focus in content, however, lies in the field of gaming and various forms of entertainment including books, movies and television. On occasion, I also write about various aspects of game design and the goings-on in my life.
Although I’ve been at it for a couple of years now, I still view myself as bit of a blogging ‘newbie’. With time and experience though, I aim to further refine the content I put out, build a considerable reader base and hopefully, turn the blog into a viable means to earn a living.
Now, I do enjoy blogging very much and I sincerely hope that you like what you see. Should you have an opinion on my posts or the site, don’t hesitate to leave a comment or, better yet, get in touch.
